2 Months Old!

Coby is two whole months today and he is getting HUGE! He weighs 13 pounds and is 23 inches long. Coby had his shots this past week and he took them like a man! He has decided that he likes to play with toys and loves to give great big smiles. We love having Coby in our home. Thanks again for joining our family!

Back to Work!

I have been back at work for a few weeks and luckily I have a great class. It has been really hard to leave my Coby but I am so grateful to have my fabulous sister Holly taking care of him everyday. It definitely helps to know that someone that loves him is watching him each day. He eats a TON at her house and doesn't sleep for her very often but I guess that is part of being in a different environment. I hope that I get to stay home with him at some point but for now I am glad he is in good hands while I spend the day with my terrific first graders!

Family Picture

We went up Payson Canyon over the weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! We took some family pictures while we were there but unfortunately they turned out blurry. I thought I would post one anyway since it is our first family picture outside of the hospital. We are hoping to have some more done soon!

Off and Running

I had my six week check-up last Friday with my doctor. I was really hoping that everything would be fine so that I could start running again. And...I'm good! I went on my first run in 9 1/2 months on Saturday and thought I was going to die! My lungs and legs were burning the whole time. I didn't go very far but I felt like I ran a marathon. I am hoping that it will get easier really, really soon. But for right now, I must run through the pain!

1 Month Old

Coby turned one month on Friday. Time goes by so fast! As the picture shows, being 1 month is quite exhausting! Here are some things he can do:

1. He has mastered the art of pooping, especially when his diaper is off :-)

2. He knows how to eat extremely well and thinks he's hungry most of the time.

3. He sleeps anywhere from 2-6 straight hours, gets up to eat, then sleeps again.

4. He takes a pacifier when he's in the mood.

5. He knows how to cry at maximum volume.

6. He knows how to be a great comfort to his mom.

Chris is pretty sure that Coby will be doing back flips in the near future. I would like to see him crawl and walk before that happens. Who knows. Maybe he will surprise us all.

The Pacifier

I am the biggest fan of the pacifier. We have been trying for three weeks to get our darling little boy to take a pacifier. He did really well taking one in the hospital but as soon as we arrived home he decided that he wasn't interested. I know that Target greatly appreciated our business because I think we purchased almost every kind they had available. We tried in vain to get him to accept this gift we were giving to him but instead he took it as torture. He would scream with his mouth open and then get his hand under it where he would proceed to launch it across the room. If he calmed down enough to realize something was in his mouth and not just on his face then he would take it, but those moments were rare. While he was in his swing the other day he started to cry. I thought I would try the hospital pacifier once again because I had not tried that one since he stopped taking it and lo and behold, MAGIC HAPPENED!!! He liked it! If it fell out and I put it back in he would take it back. He even decided to try and hold it in on his own. I hope that I am not jinxing myself by writing about this momentous event, but what a fabulous invention. Thanks to the pacifier creator!

Becoming a Big Boy

I can't believe how quickly babies grow! Everytime I pick him up it seems like he has gained a pound. Well not that much but he is definitely getting bigger. We have discovered that he is not much of a snuggler unless he is really tired. He enjoys facing out so that he can look around. I have noticed a few smiles here and there even though he may not be aware that he is smiling. I don't know if they are true happy smiles but I will take what I can get. Hopefully I will be able to catch him in the act with camera very soon!!!

Bath Time

Coby experienced his first at home bath on Saturday. Holly came over to help us with the newborn bathing process. We quickly discovered that it is not his favorite thing to expose his little body. After much screaming it was time to wash the hair. We were surprised to find that he actually loved this part. It seemed very calming and enjoyable for him. Hopefully he will learn to like the rest of his bath!

He's here!!!

Coby Ty Wigginton arrived on August 18th, right on his due date. Maybe this means he will be a very punctual person :-) He was 8 pounds 10 ounces and 20 inches long. We are so glad that he is here, even if he doesn't always love to sleep when he should. Thanks for joining our family, Coby!!!

Torpedo Belly

I had someone from work tell me that I don't look pregnant from behind, but when I turn around there's a torpedo. I guess I will be known as torpedo belly. I think I can live with that. We are at 38 1/2 weeks and no baby yet. It is getting extremely hard to wait, especially when you really have no idea when this kid is going to show up. My doctor thought that I probably wouldn't last the week, but here I am with no sign of going soon. I am still crossing my fingers that he'll show up before my next appointment on Tuesday. I can't imagine going over my due date. If I do, I will be going to work on the first day. I don't know how I would deal with 22 new first graders. The first few days are crazy!!! They have to learn so much about being big kids during those first few days and it takes a lot of energy on the teacher's part. I seem to run out of energy really fast lately so I don't think I could maintain my teacher spirit all day long. I will keep my fingers crossed and keep praying everyday!

New Baby Name???

I was talking to Holly the other day, and found out that Juliette has renamed our baby. She had a hard time saying Coby, so she called him Toby. That name didn't last very long. She decided that his new name should be Boo Boo. She also calls him Boo as a nickname. I guess Coby is out and we will have a Baby Boo Boo instead. Thanks Juliette!!!

Getting Close!!!

I can hardly believe that I am only 3 weeks away from my due date! We are both really excited to welcome our first child into our family. Chris spent time getting the baby furniture put together, and he definitely enjoyed that :-) All of the baby clothes have been washed and put away. My sub plans and files are all updated and ready for the sub. I work until Thursday and then I am finished for the summer. Coby is more than welcome to join our family after that day. We would love it if our little guy would show up slightly early. Chris' brother is going into the MTC on August 19th and I am due on August 18th. We are hoping that Coby gets to meet his uncle before he leaves on his mission. We will keep praying that he comes soon, and we can't wait to meet him!!!
